Celebrating Two Incredible Members of the Junior Tours Family

At Junior Tours, our story has always been about people.

For 50 years, we’ve had the privilege of helping students experience destinations like New York City in unforgettable ways, but what truly defines those experiences are the people behind them. Few people represent that better than Paula Schuman.

We were incredibly proud to see Paula recently featured in a beautiful article written by fellow Junior Tours tour guide Christina Stanton for The Saturday Evening Post titled, “No One Knows More About New York City.”

You can read Christina’s full article here:

In the article, Christina captures exactly what makes Paula so special. Her energy, humor, knowledge of New York City, and genuine connection with students and educators are qualities that generations of groups have experienced firsthand. Paula has a rare ability to make New York feel both exciting and personal, and that has been a huge part of the Junior Tours experience for decades.

What makes Paula’s story even more meaningful to us is how deeply connected she is to the history of Junior Tours itself. Long before Junior Tours was founded in 1976, Paula was already a close friend of Marty and Linda Abrams. As Christina shares in the article, Marty introduced Paula to the idea of tour guiding during the earliest days of building the company, and the rest is history.

Nearly five decades later, Paula remains an irreplaceable part of the Junior Tours family. She was there working with Marty as the company grew from a small family business into what it is today, and now continues working with his children and grandchildren while carrying forward the same warmth, care, and personal touch that Marty built Junior Tours around.

We also want to recognize Christina for writing such a thoughtful piece. As a talented tour guide herself, Christina brought a unique perspective to Paula’s story, and beautifully highlighted the impact Paula has had on so many students, educators, and fellow staff members over the years.

At Junior Tours, relationships like these are at the heart of everything we do. Seeing one member of our team celebrate another in such a genuine and meaningful way is a beautiful reflection of the family culture that has defines Junior Tours.

We are beyond grateful to have both Paula and Christina as part of the Junior Tours family, and we thank them for continuing to create unforgettable experiences for our students, educators, and groups each and every day.
